Navigating NIH Compliance Across the Research Lifecycle: Grants, Data, and Publications

This 90-minute session provides a practical overview of NIH compliance workflows across publications, data sharing, and grant-related forms. Participants will learn how to use My NCBI and My Bibliography to track compliance, connect grants to publications, distinguish publisher and author NIHMS submission routes, and respond to updated NIH public access requirements, including immediate public access expectations. The session also introduces compliant Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Plans and SciENcv/Common Forms, helping researchers and research staff integrate these requirements into everyday workflows and aid in accurate RPPRs (Research Performance Progress Reports). There will be time at the end of class for Q & A.

Learning outcomes - By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Describe and demonstrate understanding of NIH compliance requirements for grants, publications, and data sharing.

2. Use SciENcv to prepare NIH Common Forms.

3. Apply NIHMS and My Bibliography workflows to ensure publication compliance.

4. Identify key compliance requirements and issues related to Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Plans.

Please note: This class will be held via Zoom and recorded. You will receive the Zoom link after registering and again an hour before the session.
